The Finkenberg is 607 m above sea level. NN a heavily wooded basalt cone near the village of Seußen in the Fichtelgebirge .
geography
The Finkenberg is a secondary peak of the Elmberg around 800 m west of it. The district road WUN 14 / TIR 19 runs north of the summit and leads to Korbersdorf or to the state road St 2176 , which runs east of the mountain from Arzberg to Konnersreuth . They separate the Reichsforst with the Finkenberg from the Kohlwald .
geology
A large basalt eruption area lies between Marktredwitz , Mitterteich , Konnersreuth and Seußen. It is the westernmost branch of the North Bohemian basalt volcanism. In the Miocene , liquid basalt mass came up through the granite .
