Finn Zetterholm (born August 4, 1945 in Täby , Stockholm County ) is a Swedish songwriter and writer .

Life

Zetterholm grew up as the son of the writer couple Tore and Gertrud Zetterholm in Sigtuna . As a teenager he began to write novels and poems . The first song, Bön till mina föräldrar (“Prayer to my parents”), written in 1965, is about a child who protests against his parents' wild celebrations. Already at this point in time the idea for the title of his first record Visor iariusåldern ("Songs in the Age of Defiance") matured. It was produced with Staffan Atterhall and Bengt Sändh . Zetterholm was one of the first songwriters to appear on the song prahm Storken , which was the center of the growing Swedish songwriting movement from 1962 to 1969. The ship was moored in Stockholm and served as a jazz club. Together with Bengt Sändh , he toured Sweden and stood out for his cheeky and cheeky lyrics. Her participation in Ulf Thorén's TV series Hvar 14: e dag attracted public attention . If their songs were on Radio Sweden , they often had to be canceled because they were reported to the Swedish Broadcasting Commission. With Sändh, Zetterholm recorded three more records with his own songs. They wrote the score for Lars Molin's comedy Baddjävlar (1971), which became a huge hit on Swedish television, and played a role. From 1969 to 1970 Zetterholm recorded a record of songs by the working-class poet Joe Hill . In the early 1970s, hosted many children's programs on radio and television.

From 1969 to 1971 he was employed as a researcher in the Swedish song archive, at the same time graduated and dealt with forgotten song genres. This resulted in the record Lillfar & Lillmor ("Little Papa and Little Mom") with children's songs (together with Mari Selander) and Folklår (" Folklore ") with "evil wise men" (together with Bengt Sändh). Folklår became a scandal and was banned from being broadcast on the radio. Due to the public interest, around 100,000 copies of the LP were sold in consumer outlets . Zetterholm also worked on the radio cabaret Kabaret öppen kanal . The television version of this cabaret caused another scandal and had to be discontinued after a few episodes. The producers then switched to two stage cabarets, which were a great success. Many of the best songs from these performances can be found on the record Längans blåa elefant , which was recorded with the cabaret orchestra. Zetterholm wrote a large number of songs and sketches for various stages such as the Uppsala City Theater , as well as hundreds of songs for daily news magazines on radio and television. Together with Pierre Ström he produced a piece about Carl Michael Bellman for Riksteatern entitled En gång där en källa flöt .

In addition to his work as a songwriter, Zetterholm also worked as the author of ten children's books , two reading books and anthologies so far (2012) . Lydias hemlighet ("Lydia's secret") has been translated into six languages and has received awards in Italy and the Netherlands . In addition, he published numerous cultural articles, commentaries and chronicles in the daily press and radio.
