Fischerdorf is a district of the city of Deggendorf in the Lower Bavarian district of Deggendorf . Until 1972 it formed an independent municipality.

location

Fishing village, originally actually a fishing village , is opposite the actual Deggendorf on the right bank of the Danube . In the northwest the river is spanned by the Danube Bridge Fischerdorf .

history

Fischerdorf was a settlement of Deggendorf fishermen on the opposite side of the Danube. The place is mentioned for the first time in 1271. The corresponding document speaks of the fishermen from Deggendorf in connection with a dispute with the fishermen from Niederaltaich monastery . In the following, the fishing grounds of the fishing villages were defined, namely along the Danube from Irlbach to Niederalteich . In 1429 the fishing village and Deggendorf were administratively separated; Fischerdorf came to the district court of Natternberg . There it took a special position as Hofmark . Although it retained this status until the 18th century, Fischerdorf, like Natternberg, was more or less regarded as a district court. The village was also preferred as a trading partner of the city of Deggendorf, since it was exempted from the bridge tariff for goods purchased in the city. For this, the Fischerdorfer were obliged to take over half of the bridge maintenance. In 1752 the fishing village consisted of 42 properties.

The Brother Konrad Chapel in Fischerdorf

When the tax districts were formed in 1809, the Fischerdorf tax district comprised the two sections Fischerforf and Natternberg. The former Hofmark as well as Rohr and Holzschwaig belonged to the fishing village section. In 1818 the municipality of Fischerdorf emerged from it. Since March 1858 there have been efforts to set up a railway line from Plattling to Fischerdorf. The project was discarded, taken up again in 1863 and finally completed in 1866. On March 8, 1866, the Plattling-Fischerdorf railway line was inaugurated. With the construction of a railway bridge over the Danube and the opening of the Plattling – Bayerisch Eisenstein and Deggendorf railway station in 1877, the Fischerdorf railway station was closed.

In 1885 Fischerdorf received a small Lady Chapel. It partially collapsed due to sewer construction work in 1978 and was then removed without replacement. On July 1, 1972, the municipality of Fischerdorf was incorporated into the city of Deggendorf as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . In June 2013, Fischerdorf was particularly hard hit by the 2013 flood. Over eighty houses then had to be demolished. Since 2014 , in addition to the older Maximiliansbrücke, the Donausteg built during the State Horticultural Show has also connected the fishing village with Deggendorf.
