The Flatbush Zombies are a hip-hop - group from the United States , consisting of the rappers Meechy Darko ( "Meech") and Zombie Juice ( "Juicy") and Erick "Arc" Elliott of ( "The Architect"), the same Is the producer. The three musicians come from the district of Flatbush in the New York district of Brooklyn . As part of East Coast rap, they belong to the sub-genre Beast Coast , which also includes other rap formations such as The Underachievers , Joey Bada $$ and Pro Era, as well as producers from the East Coast of America .

Beginnings, career progression

The later band members got to know each other in Flatbush. Erick Elliot, inspired by artists such as The Notorious BIG , Snoop Doggy Dogg or the hip-hop formation Wu-Tang Clan , began producing beats for fun. Meechy Darko rapped on these beats, also for fun and boredom, as did Zombie Juice. So the group quickly had a collection of potential songs. Her style is a mix of East Coast and Down South Hip-Hop , based on New School Rap . The texts deal with life in the ghetto , not necessarily negatively, but reflect their everyday life, often in connection with drug use . Stylistically, they are inspired by the movie Damn, the zombies are coming .

At the end of 2011, the song Thug Waffle was created , the actual birth of the Flatbush Zombies , as they officially called themselves a little later. The song was uploaded to the Internet together with a video on January 4, 2012, followed by the video releases for the songs SCOSA and Face Off .

On July 24th, 2012 the mixtape D.RUGS was released for free download. By then, the Flatbush Zombies had won numerous fans. Working with well-known musicians like A $ AP Rocky , RZA and Action Bronson , they gained attention on the internet.

On September 11, 2013, the second mixtape was released on the Electric KoolAde Records label . In addition, the songs MRAZ and Death were filmed in music videos. Singles were the tracks MRAZ , Palm Trees , for which a music video was also released in 2014, and 222 . The mixtape was also a hit in terms of attention as both mixtapes were anti-commercial. The music videos all have millions of views on YouTube .

In 2014 the Flatbush Zombies went on tour together with The Underachievers under the common name Clockwork Indigo and released an EP under the same name including the song Butterfly Effect .

On March 11, 2016, the first Flatbush Zombies album was released under the title 3001: A Laced Odyssey on the band's own label "The Glorious Dead Records".

In addition, on April 6, 2018 the second album was released under the name Vacation in Hell and on October 31, 2018 the single "New World Order". On December 5, 2019, the music video for the single Monica was released. The album FBZ3 was also announced for 2020.
