Fleckl (Warmensteinach)

Fleckl is a place in the municipality of Warmensteinach in the Upper Franconian district of Bayreuth .

Geographical location

The place is on the southern slope of the 1024 m high of the Ochsenkopf in the Fichtelgebirge .

history

Fleckl belonged to the Amberg Rent Office of the Electorate of Bavaria . Since 1857, when the district of the then Bayreuth Regional Court was enlarged, the place has belonged to the administrative district of Upper Franconia .

In 1972 the previously independent municipality of Fleckl was dissolved as part of the regional reform in Bavaria and assigned to the municipality of Warmensteinach.

The predominantly Catholic place has no church of its own. The parish of the St. Laurentius Church in Oberwarmensteinach is responsible for the faithful .

tourism

Tourism in the Fichtel Mountains is of central importance in the village. These include several tourist facilities such as a natural moor bath or the salt pond, as well as ski slopes and the Ochsenkopf-Süd cable car . The bike center in the Bullheadhouse is the central point of contact for mountain bikers at the Ochsenkopf bike park.
