content

As with the debut album Lichtbringer , Fleischwald uses morbid elements, for example in the song Das Beil und der Vater :

"Your soft fat
It clings to
my mouth
Your beautiful body opens
And bleeds me healthy"

- The hatchet and the father

There are also anti- religion elements that can be found in sentences such as "Beat your faith in woods / Cursed the breathe / Hit your body on woods - Amen" ( death and decline ) or "God loves our suffering / God loves our madness / God , God, God / Our Pein “( The Misanthrope ). Likewise, in the song Kadavernazion Jesus and Hitler are mentioned in the same breath:

"Christ - deception is holy to you,
bound by the will of freedom
On the bread of grace
Adolf - a lie from the start
What remains is sweet full of murder
In my head"

- Cadavernazion

Musical aspects

Overall, the music can be described as deliberately raw and simply knitted, but is not uniform on the album, but different. So "there are slow, hard, creaking Doom hits [...], but on the other hand there are also fast, driving Metalcore songs" (). The fast and slow songs are also roughly balanced, so that no direction predominates. The style cannot be clearly assigned, moves between Metal and Crustcore , but is sometimes also referred to as Black Metal , which "does not always have to express itself in English" ().

The music magazine Ox described the music as "probably the crudest and most fat produced Thrash killer", which shines above all through directness and linguistic power.

However, it was also criticized that the album still has the same style and the same quality as its two predecessors and thus brought little new: “Totenmond, who with Lichtbringer still attracted attention with their extreme kind of metal and German lyrics, have become predictable . Linguistic provocation, hard changes of pace - everything was already there "().

The web zine metal.de praised the album because it “was consistently at a high level”, but noted that “the two forerunners Lichtbringer and Father Frost […] each represented a stage of development which the sound has been refined, on Fleischwald […] [however] stagnation [prevails] ”.

Presentation

Various copper- engraving -like drawings were used as cover images and booklet images, showing violent executions, such as the sawing of a person tied to stakes with his feet up, which can be seen on the cover. One of the drawings shows one person hitting another with an ax. The CD itself shows a drawing of the moon, which looks like a skull. The entire font consists of bold Fraktur letters , but only the normal "s" was used everywhere.

In addition to a few people, a few other bands (both metal and punk) such as Eisenvater , Crisis , Within Temptation , Atrocity or Terrorpunker are greeted in the booklet .
