Florian Fischer (born 199x in Altötting ) is a German multidisciplinary theater director , exhibition curator and playwright.

Life

Fischer studied theater directing at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich . As part of the practical part of his studies, he produced his first own productions and worked as an assistant in directing work for Stefan Pucher , Johan Simons and the choreographer Meg Stuart . In 2014, he won the jury award at the European Festival for Young Directors Fast Forward with his diploma thesis staging The Case M - A Psychiatry Story , which, among other things, deals with the government scandal surrounding Gustl Mollath . In 2016, 2017 and 2019, productions by him were invited to the Radikal jung Festival.

For Kroniek or how to forget a dead person in the apartment next door for 28 months , Fischer received a special award in 2017 at Radikal jung from the festival masterclass of directing students. At the Ruhrtriennale 2015 he was involved in the conceptual development and implementation of the opera production of Prometeo by Luigi Nono under Johan Simons . He has also directed at the Basel Theater with Andreas Beck and at the Braunschweig State Theater with Joachim Klement and with Milo Rau at the Dutch Theater in Gent . In experimental, interactive theater formats such as the "Big Data Game" by the Berlin group Interrobang , Fischer took on functional sub-areas such as video, sound and programming .

In addition to theater work, Fischer is also involved in the production of radio plays , installations and audio walks as well as writing reports and theoretical texts. The choreography of a fashion show for Paris Fashion Week was also there. He worked on the "programming of a performative symposium on post-feminism " and on an exhibition on the techno music scene. He has curated exhibitions at the artist network Konstruot in Brussels.

His first directorial work for the Dresden State Theater , Operation Kamen , his own historical documentary piece about guiding citizens through secret service operations, brought him the Kurt Hübner directing award in 2019 as well as the third invitation to the Radikal jung festival. The 75-minute piece is based on the file research by Václava Jandecková, which is why Fischer made an international co-production out of it. The Czech-speaking audience can also enjoy the cooperation between the Dresden Theater and the Archa Theater in Prague. Headphones are used extensively in the staging.

Florian Fischer lives in Munich, unless work orders require him to stay elsewhere.
