Florian Krumpöck

Florian Krumpöck (* 1978 ) is an Austrian pianist and conductor .

Life

Florian Krumpöck is the son of a cellist and an art historian.

His pianistic teachers included u. a. Rudolf Buchbinder , Gerhard Oppitz , Elisabeth Leonskaja and Daniel Barenboim . Florian Krumpöck's pianistic repertoire includes complete work cycles, such as the Well-Tempered Clavier by Johann Sebastian Bach or the 32 piano sonatas and the five piano concertos by Ludwig van Beethoven , as well as numerous world premieres, for example by Korngold , Wellesz and Schreker .

Florian Krumpöck is u. a. performed in Zurich, Vienna, Salzburg, Munich and Moscow as well as in Israel, the USA, China and South Korea and was a guest of international festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Salzburg Easter Festival, the Bregenz Festival, the Bad Kissingen Music Summer Bach Festival in Leipzig, at the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Music Festival and at the KlangBogen Wien . In 2008 he made his solo debut at the Wiener Musikverein and played 2 complete cycles of Ludwig van Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas for the first time. In 2011 he gave a solo evening in the Herkulessaal in Munich , which was broadcast by Bayerischer Rundfunk.

Florian Krumpöck is a Blüthner pianist. His Blüthner concert grand accompanies him on tours and during recordings.

Daniel Barenboim and Michael Boder are among his mentors.

In 2006 Florian Krumpöck achieved international renown as a conductor with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and was then appointed chief conductor of the Sinfonietta Baden (until 2010). In 2007 he conducted a New Year's concert at the Kennedy Center in Washington for the first time , which led to an engagement at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona . In 2010 Florian Krumpöck made his debut in the double function as pianist and conductor with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon and conducted the Trier Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time. In 2011 he conducted the Bremerhaven Municipal Orchestra, the Wonju Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra.

Florian Krumpöck has been General Music Director and Chief Conductor of the North German Philharmonic Rostock and the Rostock Volkstheater since 2011 .

Discography

So far six CDs with solo recordings of works by Mozart, Schubert, Liszt and Weber have been released.
