Florian Meierott

Florian Meierott (born September 18, 1968 in Würzburg ) is a German violinist , violin teacher and composer .

Life

As the son of the music professor Lenz Meierott and a high school music teacher, he began playing the violin at the age of 4 with the renowned children's educator Egon Sassmannshaus . After that he was a student of Max Speermann in Würzburg, until he switched to Ulf Hoelscher's class at the Karlsruhe University of Music as a young student . In 1988 he passed his Abitur. He completed master classes with Ruggiero Ricci , Reinhard Goebel and Zakhar Bron . After graduating with the highest honors from Wilhelm Melcher (Primarius of the Melos Quartet ) in Stuttgart, he began his solo career.

The award-winning violinist has played with many well-known orchestras ( Berlin Symphony Orchestra , Hungarian National Philharmonic) and musicians such as Kalle Randalu , Siegfried Mauser , Stefan Palm , Michael Tröster, Hakim Ludin , Daniel Müller-Schott, Ingolf Turban and the Duo Tedesco . World premiere of works by Xaver Paul Thoma, Stefan Bartling, Jaan Rääts , Klaus Hinrich Stahmer , Herbert Baumann, John Glenesk Mortimer and Wolfram Graf. Florian Meierott is concertmaster of the German Chamber Orchestra .

Since 2004 he has been the artistic director of the festival “Ein Ort wird Musik” in Bad Hindelang , Allgäu. Since 2005 director of the “Erlacher Schlosskonzerte”. In 2008 he founded the "Florian Meierott Foundation" to promote young musicians. From 2008 to 2014 he taught violin and didactics at the University of Music in Würzburg . Florian Meierott lived and taught after his training at Erlach Castle in Bavaria and since 2014 in the "Villa Paganini" in Kitzingen. He currently plays a violin made by Armando Altavilla, Naples around 1925.
