Florian Rummel
Florian Rummel (* 1980 in Trier ) is a German actor .
Life
Rummel grew up in his hometown Trier. There he played in independent theater groups, sang in various choirs and was active as a guitarist in various ensembles and in a ska band. After school he did his community service . During his community service he worked with the deaf and took part in a theater project that was invited to the German Children's and Youth Theater Meeting in Berlin .
From 2000 to 2004 he studied acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz . During his training he already played at the Schauspielhaus Graz ; there he appeared in 2003 as a high school student Ernst Röbel in Spring Awakening . In 2003 he played Tamino in a drama version of Mozart's opera Die Zauberflöte at the Theater im Palais in Graz . In the 2003/04 season he appeared at the Schauspielhaus Graz as Lucentio in The Taming of the Shrew . During his studies in Graz he also worked as a news anchor for a local radio station.
He had his first permanent engagement in the 2004/05 season at the Rostock Volkstheater . He made his debut there in his first season with the role of Gernot in Die Nibelungen (director: Johanna Schall ). Other roles in Rostock were: Lysander / Thisbe in the Shakespeare comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream (2004/05 season; director: Rainer Iwersen ), Achilles in Penthesilea (2005; director: Johanna Schall), Georg von Waldstätten in Das Käthchen von Heilbronn (2005 ; Director: Johanna Schall), Roller in Die Räuber (2005; Director: Manuel Soubeyrand), Ferdinand in Kabale und Liebe (2005/06 season; Director: Johanna Schall), Mackie Messer in Brecht / Weill's Die Dreigroschenoper (2006; Director: Johanna Schall), Norman in Ladies' Night by Anthony McCarten / Stephen Sinclair (2006; directed by Johanna Schall), Horatio in Hamlet (2006; directed by Johanna Schall) and Officer O'Hara in Arsenic and Lace Cap (2006; directed by Annette Reber).
In the 2007/08 season Rummel moved to the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin . There he stepped u. a. as Andres in Woyzeck (2007/08 season), as Hämon in Antigone by Jean Anouilh (2007/08 season) and as Chance Wayne in Süßer Vogel Jugend (2008).
He also took on several musical roles in Schwerin , such as Jonathan Harker in the musical Dracula (Peter Dehler; music: John R. Carlson) with the premiere in the 2007/08 season; He played this role there until February 2009. Other musical roles were Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (2008) and Seymour in Der kleine Horrorladen (2009).
Rummel also played the Mackie Messer in Rostock until May 2008 during his engagement in Schwerin. His partner as Mrs. Celia Peachum was Dorothea Meissner .
From 2010 to 2013 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Grips Theater in Berlin. There he was seen in numerous pieces. He kicked u. a. as Anton in Pünktchen und Anton (premiere: 2010/11 season; director: Frank Panhans) and as the son Wolf, later as Ferdinand, in the award-winning play The Better Forests by Martin Baltscheit (premiere 2012; director: Robert Neumann), which 2010 was awarded the German Youth Theater Prize. In 2011 he appeared in the role of Seymour in Der kleine Horrorladen at Theater Kiel .
Rummel has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspiel Stuttgart since the 2013/14 season . So far he has played there a. a. Lerse im Urgötz (premiere: October 2013; director: Simon Solberg ), Birk Borkasson in Ronja the robber's daughter (premiere: January 2014), the rich young Ludovico Marsili in Das Leben des Galilei (premiere: January 2014, director: Armin Petras ) and the Mr. index finger in dots and Anton (premiere: November 2015).
Rummel also took on a few film and television roles; However, the focus of his artistic activity as an actor is his theater work. He has appeared in several short films directed by Götz Spielmann , Barbara Albert , Stefan Fent and Christian Schwochow . In David Wnendt's feature film Wetlands (2013) he had a small role as a drummer.
In February 2016 Rummel was seen in a leading role in the ZDF crime series SOKO Stuttgart . He played Dennis Pflieger, a soccer referee who was sexually abused by his former head of training.
Rummel lived permanently in Berlin during his engagement at the Grips Theater; currently (as of February May 2017) he lives in Stuttgart .
