Florine de Leymarie (born May 9, 1981 in Moûtiers ) is a former French ski racer . In her specialty, slalom , she achieved four top 10 placements in the World Cup and two top 15 results at World Championships and the Olympic Games .

biography

De Leymarie had her first appearance in an FIS race in December 1996, and in February 2000 she competed in the European Cup for the first time . In 2002 and 2004 she was able to win a European Cup slalom. On December 22nd, 2002 she took part in a World Cup race for the first time on Lenzerheide . She won her first World Cup points on March 8th, 2003 when she was 27th in the slalom in Åre .

De Leymarie achieved her best World Cup result on November 28, 2004, when she surprisingly achieved fourth place in the Aspen slalom . Just one day before, she was 19th in the first Aspen slalom, making it into the top 20 for the first time. As a result, she regularly achieved results in the top 20, but only achieved further top 10 results in the 2006/07 season. With five other French ski racers, she was third in the team competition on March 16, 2007 on Lenzerheide .

Florine de Leymarie took part twice in slaloms at world championships and once in Olympic Winter Games. At the 2005 World Championships in Santa Caterina she was 15th and at the 2007 World Championships in Åre 22nd in slalom and also fifth in the team competition. The slalom of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin finished in eleventh position. Since de Leymaries worsened results in the 2008/09 season and they could rarely qualify for a second round, she was not nominated for the 2009 World Cup and lost the squad membership in the French Association after the season. After she had only participated in a few European Cup and FIS races the next winter, de Leymarie ended her career in 2010.
