Floris Willem van Assendelft (born December 7, 1985 in Enschede ) is a Dutch chess player .

Life

Floris van Assendelft completed an engineering degree at the University of Groningen . He works as a SAP consultant at Capgemini in Utrecht and lives in The Hague .

successes

In 2005 he finished second behind Joost Michielsen at the Dutch championship in the U20 category in Schagen . Van Assendelft has won the individual championship of the Overijssel province several times .

He played club chess for the Schaakvereniging Park Stockhorst and the Schaakgenootschap Max Euwe , both from Enschede. In the highest Dutch league, the Meester class , he played for the first time in the 2014/15 season , for SISSA Groningen . In Germany he plays for the Düsseldorfer SK 1914/25 . In the Icelandic team championship he played in the 2013/14 season for Skákdeild Fjölnis a-sveit .

Since September 2012 he has held the title of International Master . He had already achieved the standards for this in October 2008 at the Essent Open in Hoogeveen , where he won against the grandmaster Michail Ulybin , at the 26th Open in Cappelle-la-Grande in February 2010 and at the Najdorf Open in Warsaw in July 2010 He reached the required Elo rating of 2400 in September 2012.
