The Sary-Arka International Airport ( Kazakh : Сарыарқа Әуежайы, Russian : Аэропорт Сары-Арка) ( IATA code : KGF , ICAO code : UAKK ) is an airport , the capital of the region Karaganda , the eponymous Kazakh city of Karaganda served.

history

The airport was built in 1934 and relocated to its current location ten years later. In 1980 the entire airport was renovated. The terminal was replaced by a new building and the runway was modernized.

In 1992 it was granted international airport status and in 1997 it became an independent public company .

aims

The Kazakh airlines Air Astana and SCAT as well as foreign airlines offer domestic and international flight connections. Cargo airlines use the airport as a stop on connections between East Asia and Europe.
