The airport Kokshetau ( Kazakh Халықаралық Көкшетау Әуежайы Chalyqaralyq Kokshetau Äujeschajy , English Kokshetau International Airport ; former name till 1993: Airport Kokchetav ) ( IATA : KOV , ICAO : UACK ) is an international airport near the Kazakh city of Kokshetau (formerly Kokchetav), the Capital of the Aqmola region . The airport opened in 1945.
The airport is about 12.5 km northeast of Kokshetau (English Kokshetau), on the A13 motorway . The airport's IATA code is derived from the latter city name. The airport was modernized in 2013 and can handle 200 passengers per hour. From Kokshetau the airlines Fly Arystan , SCAT Airlines and IrAero offer scheduled flights within Kazakhstan and to Russia . Located at a height of 274 meters, Kökschetau Airport has an asphalt runway of 2850 meters and a width of 45 meters.
