The ajdovščina airport ( ICAO code LJAJ , Slovenian letališče Ajdovščina ) is the airfield in the Slovenian city of Ajdovščina . It is primarily used for air sports and tourism. In addition, Pipistrel , a Slovenian manufacturer of microlight aircraft , has been using the airfield as a test site since the 1990s and as a factory airfield and production facility since 2002 .
Location and infrastructure
The airfield is located at a height of 117 m AMSL and borders directly on the western part of the urban area. It has a grass runway measuring 1060 × 50 m, which is oriented in an east-west direction (09/27). To the south of the runway there is a large lawn intended for helicopters and parachutists to land, towers and hangars , as well as a small runway for model aircraft .
Flight operations
In Ajdovščina only flights according to visual flight rules take place. Aircraft - aircraft , rotary wing aircraft , gliders , parachutes and ultralight aircraft are permitted - must not exceed a maximum take-off weight of 5000 kg.
