The Burg Flugplatz is a special airfield near Burg (near Magdeburg) .

It is approved for motor gliders, gliders and ultralight aircraft and helicopters up to 5700 kg. Occasionally, skydivers can also be found on the site.

location

The airport is located just over three kilometers south of Castle in the 88 hectares large FFH -region Heide south castle and on the northern edge of the site training area Burg-Krähenberge.

history

On June 16, 2012 the 20th anniversary of the Flugsportclub Burg e. V., the operator of the airfield, celebrated with an open day. During the floods in Central Europe in 2013 , the site was temporarily used as a tank base for helicopters of the Bundeswehr .
