The Schönebeck-Zackmünde airfield is a special airfield in the Salzland district . It has an 800-meter-long and 40-meter-wide grass runway and is approved for gliders , powered gliders , microlights and powered aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of up to two tons, as well as for the Antonov An-2 model .

Incidents

  • On September 30, 2000, a PZL Bielsko SZD-30 glider took off in a winch launch . During Anrollens a second, false ausliegendes winch rope in defective hooked spur of the aircraft. The pilot tried to land across the runway. In the meantime, the 27-meter winch rope, which was cut on the winch but still hanging on the glider, caught on a concrete post and the plane hit the ground. The pilot succumbed to his injuries eleven days later.
  • On August 14, 2011, a PZL Bielsko SZD-50 glider took off in tow behind a PZL-104 Wilga 35. After the tow plane took off, it leaned increasingly to the right. Thereupon the pilot of the glider disengaged the tow rope and landed without problems. The tow plane continued to bank. The plane entered a pitch flight and eventually hit the ground. The reason for this was not removed ailerons interlocksystem . The 68-year-old pilot was seriously injured, but was able to free himself from the wreck.
