The airfield Hastings ( English Hastings Airfield ) is a small airfield in Sierra Leone near the capital Freetown . Mainly charter flights start from here. It is managed and operated by the Sierra Leone Airports Authority (SLAA).
The expansion of the airfield into an airport is planned (as of February 2015). It will then serve as a hub for national flights. Previously, the airfield was threatened with complete closure and conversion to another use.
As of 2004, the headquarters of the Republic of Sierra Leone Air Wing should be relocated here.
Line bus traffic
The airfield was the home base of Eagle Air in the 2000s and 2010s . Eagle Air operated the routes to Bo , Kenema and Yengema .
Trivia
