Fluoroglycofen-ethyl is an artificially produced chemical compound from the group of diphenyl ethers . The compound inhibits protoporphyrinogen oxidase , which is why it was used as a herbicide . It is the ethyl ester of fluoroglycofen (CAS no. 77501-60-1).

Dismantling

In living things, fluoroglycofen is metabolized to acifluorfen .

Admission

In 2002, the EU Commission decided not to include fluoroglycofen in the list of permitted crop protection agents. Fluorglycofen-ethyl was available under the trade name Estrad , but has not been approved in Germany since 2003. There are also no approvals in Switzerland or Austria.
