Fly Viking was a Norwegian airline based in Tromsø and based at Tromsø Airport .
history
Fly Viking was founded in 2017 by Ola Giaever, who worked for Widerøe's Flyveselskap until he was fired in 2014 . The plan was to compete against Widerøe's Flyveselskap as a competitor for the public contract for flights in the thinly populated far north of Norway in the state tender . However, this was again awarded the contract. Nevertheless, flight operations began at the end of March 2017.
Regular flight operations began on March 27, 2017 with a flight from Tromsø to Hammerfest and Bodø .
On January 12, 2018, the airline will cease flight operations due to financial losses.
