history

In January 2004, local authorities decided to invest in a local company that would offer several daily flights from Skien to Bergen . This resulted in the virtual airline Vildanden , which started operations in cooperation with Coast Air . Initially, an ATR 42 rented from the partner company was used. In 2007, Vildanden increased the number of its flight connections by leasing a Saab 340 from the Swedish Avitrans . In parallel, daily flights to Stavanger and Molde and three weekly connections to Stockholm were launched. Vildanden discontinued the connection to Mole in November 2007. The company recorded its first profit in the first quarter of 2009. At that time, it was using an ATR 42 from Danish Air Transport and a BAe Jetstream 31 from Norwegian Helitrans . In the following period, the company flew again losses.

In January 2011, Vildanden filed for bankruptcy and ended flight operations.
