Folter Records is a German music label from Berlin . It specializes primarily in black metal .

history

The music label was founded by Jörg Schröder, originally as a distributor. One of the first business partners was Nuclear Blast . The label debut in 1994 was "Wanted For Kinky Session", a 7 " EP by the Goregrind band Dead limited to 1,000 copies. The first CD on compact disc was the 1995 EP" Romantic Beatitude Of Faded Dawn "by the Doom Metal band As Divine Grace .

At the beginning of 2018, 14 bands were signed, most of them from Europe. A non-European representative is Narbeleth from Cuba.

In addition to its own first releases , Folter Records also has re-releases in its program, for example various records by Skyforger from Latvia.

Others

In 1995 and 1996, the "Torture Records Open Air" took place in Brohm, a district of the city of Friedland in the Mecklenburg Lake District . After a one-year break, it was continued from 1998 under the name "Under The Black Sun Festival". In the Woods… , Dark Funeral , Enthroned , Mayhemic Truth , Ved Buens Ende and Dimmu Borgir appeared at the premiere .
