Forchau is a district of the municipality of Denklingen in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech .

geography

The hamlet Forchau located about six kilometers southeast of Denklingen on a bend in the river of Lech between Epfach and apple village .

Lech barrage 9 , which has been in operation since 1944, is located at the southwestern end of the Forchauer river loop .

history

Until the secularization of 1803 Forchau was part of the main team Apfeldorf of the care court Rauhenlechsberg . In 1752, a quarter courtyard is mentioned; it can be found in the Landsberg parish church.

Until June 30, 1972, Forchau was part of the former municipality of Epfach.
