Forsting is a district of the municipality of Polling in the Upper Bavarian district of Mühldorf am Inn .

The village lies in the open, a good 5 km south of Polling.

history

Forsting is first mentioned in 1260. The settlement probably originated from the neighboring Münchberg, where Forstinger Höfe were called the old Salzburg Urbarhöfe. The village had belonged to the Duchy of Bavaria since the Middle Ages , but the neighboring city of Mühldorf am Inn was part of the Prince Archbishopric of Salzburg until 1803 . From the Bavarian municipal edict of 1818 to the municipal edict of 1818 until the municipality reform , Forsting was an independent municipality with the following districts:

On January 1, 1970, it was incorporated into Polling.
