Polling is located in the planning region of southeast Upper Bavaria , about three kilometers southeast of Mühldorf and is traversed by the Hirschbach.

history

In 1123 a Ruprecht and Engelschalk von Polling and with it the place itself are first mentioned in a document. The oldest place in the municipality is the Flossing, mentioned in 788 . The Catholic Curate Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Polling is a late Gothic single-nave complex from the 15th century, redesigned in Baroque style by Franz Alois Mayr in 1758, it is part of the parish association of Flossing. The village of Polling belonged to the Burghausen Rent Office and the Mörmoosen Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

An alleged apparition of Mary in the Unterflossing district caused some excitement in 2018, but the Catholic Church distanced itself.
