geography

Community structure

The municipality of Taufkirchen has 81 districts:

Neighboring communities

The neighboring community in the north is the Kraiburg am Inn market . In the east, Oberneukirchen (Upper Bavaria) borders on Taufkirchen. Engelsberg and Peterskirchen (municipality of Tacherting) border in the south of Taufkirchen, both of which are already in the Traunstein district. The community of Unterreit is to the west of Taufkirchen .

history

The municipality of Taufkirchen, to which the name “vor dem Wald” was added earlier, was largely settled as early as the 10th century. It is even suspected that the Bavarians, who immigrated in the 6th century, were already settled when the land was first taken .

First documentary mentions

Vir nobilis Fridaperth handed over his property in loco Pettinheima (Pettenham) to Salzburg Archbishop Odalbert (923-935) in 924 , for which the archbishop assigned him property to Troibach near Aschau (documented in Weilkirchen in 924). From the Codex Odalbert we learn that the archdeacon Hasswin gave the archbishop two possessions in 925. In return, the Archbishop gave him Engilhereshusa and Puotinperch (Engelhausen and Pietenberg) (made out at Chiemsee on June 9, 925). Archbishop Odalbert traded with the sanctimonialis Himildruda Pietenberg in 931 . According to this document, issued in Erharting on August 2, 931, Puotinperch was already a church. Taufkirchen was first mentioned as a parish in 1068. Adlwinus was named as the first pastor of Taufkirchen. The rectory was the wasteland of Lafering. The branches Pietenberg, Pettenham, Sonham and the branch office Kraiburg belonged to the parish . Archbishop Konrad I (1132–1147) exchanged in 1132 from the monastery Au am Inn u. a. Sonderheim (Sonham) and Betzenheim (Pettenham). Reginwardus de Sanderheim around 1132 was given as a witness. Count Meginhard handed over three vineyards in Cholnpuch (Gallenbach) to Margrave Engilbert von Kraiburg in 1149 . Archbishop Conrad III. (1177–1183) took Gars monastery under his protection in 1177 and gave him the praedium Bettenheim cum Capella in co sita . So Pettenham has been a church town since 1177. A Chunrad des Sonneheim (Sonham) am Gallenbach was a witness for his brother Heinrich von Oberneukirchen (Upper Bavaria) in 1199 .

Count of Taufkirchen-Gallenbach

The later Counts of Taufkirchen-Gallenbach had lived in Gallenbach since the 10th century and later came to Guttenburg around 1300. They were originally ministerials of the Counts of Kraiburg . Today's inn in Gallenbach was the seat of the ministerial office, the small castle on the hill was a refuge in case of danger and was never permanently inhabited. Guttenburg Castle was owned by the Counts of Taufkirchen until 1824 . In 1640 the Taufkirchen-Gallenbach family was raised to the baron status. In 1634 and 1635 the plague raged in the area of Taufkirchen. The plague cemetery at that time is said to have been at the Frailbauern. Presumably it was south of the farm, where the dead could be buried quickly in some old Nagelfluh stone quarries in the forest. In 1684 the barons of Taufkirchen-Gallenbach were raised to the rank of count.

18./19. century

In 1808 the community of Zeiling was founded. Kraiburg was elevated to an independent parish by the ordinariate in 1876 . The Taufkirchen-Zeiling volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1884. Pastor Matthias Seeanner brought the parsonage to the village in 1894 . This was made possible by swapping the plots and farms from Lafering with the tailor from Taufkirchen.

After the Second World War

After the Second World War , many displaced persons had to be taken in; In 1948 there were 258 people in Taufkirchen. In the following years most of them migrated to the newly created industrial town of Waldkraiburg .

From 1954, new settlement areas were designated on Sportplatzstraße, followed twelve years later by the Am Wirtsberg settlement area . On July 1, 1970, the community came Zeiling through voluntary community merging the municipality Taufkirchen. After this merger, the population of Taufkirchen had reached about 980. After more than 900 years of independence, the parish was in the 1972 Pfarrverband incorporated Kraiburg.

The settlement area Am Ederberg was designated in 1972. Taufkirchen became a member of the Kraiburg am Inn administrative association in 1978 . The settlement areas Am Nemerberg 1979, Hötzlstraße 1984, Gallenbachstraße 1993, Am Anger 1995, Ziererwiese 1995 and Weiß 2003 followed.
