The Fortuna vehicle is a 1946 by Bernhard Schwartbeck in münsterländischem Ochtrup based manufacturer of agricultural equipment. The medium-sized family company designs and produces trailers for agriculture , horticulture and landscaping as well as earthworks at two locations in Germany .

history

In 1946, the engineer Bernhard Schwartbeck founded Bernhard Schwartbeck Landmaschinen in Ochtrup, Münsterland, a sales point for agricultural machines and consumables and a production facility for the aforementioned items, according to the wording of the business registration . Production began with the manufacture of swing washing machines .

From the 1950s onwards, the company manufactured agricultural equipment such as spoon harrows, grain blowers and height conveyors. The first trailer developed in-house was the Fortuna-Spezial manure spreader, which was launched on the market in 1952 and sold nationwide in the following years . From 1960 the company was expanded to include agricultural machinery trading and the repairs of tractors from well-known brands such as Lanz , Hanomag and John Deere .

In 1982, master mechanical engineer Bernhard Schwartbeck took over management from his father of the same name and restructured the company afterwards. The trade in tractors was discontinued and the company concentrated on the production of agricultural trailer models, chassis for environmental technology and truck trailers for gardening and landscaping. To this end, the company is developing a conical tipping bridge and self-opening and closing tailgates. On February 21, 1985, the conical tipping bridge was registered with the German Patent Office as a utility model (G 85 04 885.2). The innovation here was the conical design, which contributes to better unloading of bulk goods due to the dead weight of the cargo and the wider opening at the end of the tipping bridge . Nowadays this is a standard for almost all tipping vehicles for bulk goods. In 1986 the cooperation began with the Doppstadt company , which, according to the company , is a world leader in the field of environmental technology.

In 1997 the utility model protection for a transport vehicle took place in which, according to the registration: the loading area end area and the loading ramp in their rest position complement each other to form an area that is level on the top and flush with the rest of the loading area.

In 2002 Fortuna developed a bracket to be able to attach all hydraulic and electrical connection lines in an orderly manner above the drawbar . The utility model protection took place in the same year. After several expansions at the location in the Alte Maate between 1991 and most recently in 2007 with a paint shop , an additional production location was acquired in Ochtrup for further expansion in 2008 and a second plant was built in Schützenstrasse.

In 2009 Bernd Schwartbeck took over the management of the company from his father with his brother and welding specialist Christian Schwartbeck after completing his industrial engineering degree . In the same year Fortuna manufactured one of the largest European quicklime fertilizer spreaders as a custom-made product. With auger spreading, this tridem vehicle reaches a working width of up to 20 meters. In 2011, the construction of a new production hall at Plant II followed, followed by the expansion of the product range to include large dump trucks such as the Tridem Dump truck FTM 300 / 9.0 with a loading volume of 57 m³. In 2015, a self- developed tarpaulin system and new systems for variable loading heights for dump trucks and three - way dump trucks with double steel attachments and spring-loaded hinged attachments were presented.
