General

The FSH (like the entire district) is named after Ludwig von Schwanthaler , the builder of the nearby Bavaria . The location of today's shopping center has been shaped by large retail branches for decades. The Saturn branch , which is now part of the FSH, is the oldest in Munich. At the location of the current Edeka supermarket there was an outdoor center from Karstadt until 2010 , later a branch of the toy retailer Toys “R” Us . At the place of today's central part of the FSH there was a furniture store from Karstadt, which was taken over by the Austrian furniture store chain XXXLutz in 2010 and operated until 2015.

Transport links

The Forum Schwanthalerhöhe can be reached publicly with the U4 and U5 stops at Theresienwiese . The nearest tram station is Holzapfelstrasse on lines 18 and 19, and the closest S-Bahn station is Hackerbrücke . A paid underground car park with around 1000 parking spaces is accessible around the clock. It is roughly in the middle between the Mittlerer Ring and the Altstadtring .
