history

The Fish Lake Water Company was founded in 1898 to help irrigate the Rogue Valley . Fourmile Lake Dam was built in 1906, and Fish Lake was completed two years later. In 1915, the two lakes were connected by the Cascade Canal , which directs water from Fourmile Lake over the watershed in the Cascade Range to Fish Lake. The dam was repaired in 1955 and a new relief channel was added.
