Frédéric Chau
Frédéric Chau (born June 6, 1977 in Ho Chi Minh City , Vietnam ) is a French actor . He became known through the Jamel Comedy Club and the films Monsieur Claude and his daughters and its sequel .
Life
Frédéric Chau was born in Ho Chi Minh City , Vietnam, the oldest of three children. His parents were from the Chinese minority in Cambodia . In 1977, shortly before he was born, his parents left Phnom Penh for Vietnam to escape the Khmer Rouge . When he was six months old, they emigrated to France. They settled in the Marx-Dormoy district in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. They later moved to the suburb of Villetaneuse in the Seine-Saint-Denis department . At the age of eighteen he graduated from school with the Baccalauréat scientifique . He then did a DUT in communications engineering.
After a fashion photographer discovered him, he worked briefly as a model for the advertising agency People International. In 1998 he started working for Air France as a flight attendant . At the same time he took acting classes.
In 2005 Frédéric Chau started working as a stand-up comedian. In 2006 he performed at the Jamel Comedy Club .
In 2009 he dubbed Chihuahua together with his colleagues from the Jamel Comedy Club Beverly Hills . In the same year he left the company around Jamel Debbouze to devote himself to his acting career.
In 2014 he played one of the sons-in-law in the French comedy film Monsieur Claude and his daughters and a supporting role in the action film Lucy . This earned him the title of “Most Successful Actor 2014” from the Magazine Première .
In September 2015 he published his autobiography Je viens von si loin , in Editions Philippe Rey.
Private
Since July 9, 2017, he and his partner have had a child.
