Ghettogangz 2 - Ultimatum (Original title: Banlieue 13 - Ultimatum , English-language distribution: District B13 Ultimatum ) is a French film from 2009 by Patrick Alessandrin and Luc Besson . It is the sequel to Ghettogangz - Hell before Paris .
The district Banlieue 13 is cordoned off from other districts, gangs and drug trafficking prevail inside, the police only control the borders. Together with a high-ranking military leader, a company is trying to destroy the problem area in order to then market it as an attractive area after it has been rebuilt. To this end, a police murder is staged in the neighborhood in order to be able to bloodily suppress the unrest that is arising.

In 2013, the Parisian district of Banlieue 13 was fenced in by a police-guarded isolation wall and controlled by five gangs . For wealthy Parisians, this ghetto is an eyesore. Therefore, a corrupt police unit stages the murder of two patrol officers in Banlieue 13. Unrest and rioting broke out, which Walter Gassman, the head of the special unit DISS, wanted to use as an argument to razed the area and instead awarded a building project in Harriburton authorize.
However, unnoticed, young people filmed the actual course of the murder, which the DISS unmasked as the perpetrator, and can send these recordings to Leïto before they are arrested. After watching the video, Leïto receives a message from his old friend, the policeman Damien. He is being held in a prison for drug use. The police manage to determine that Damien had telephone contact with Leïto, which is why they stormed Leïto's apartment. Leïto can, however, flee over the skyscraper roofs. He frees Damien from prison. Together they see through Gassman's plan.
Back in Banlieue 13, which has been abandoned by all residents except the gangs due to evacuation measures by the police, Leïto and Damien summon the gang leaders and explain the situation. They agree to work together to penetrate the Ministry of Defense and prevent the bombing of their neighborhood. They clarify the president present there about Gassman's real intentions. The president then agrees to rebuild the district so that it is livable again for its previous residents, and has the bombing carried out for this purpose. He entrusts Damien with the project to rebuild the district.

The film was shot in Paris and Belgrade . The shooting took place in July 2008. A total of 14 weeks were needed for the shooting. The budget of the film is estimated at around 12 million euros . The film celebrated its world premiere on February 8, 2009 at the Berlinale . From February 18, 2009 was shown in French and Swiss cinemas. All non-French language versions of the film, including the German and English, were released directly on DVD and Blu-Ray. In Germany the film was released on October 7, 2009 as a loan version on DVD. The purchase version was available in Germany from November 6, 2009. The DVD / Blu-ray release contains over 70 minutes of bonus material and offers a look behind the scenes, making-of features such as The Fights and Parkour , as well as deleted and shortened scenes, a production diary and the official music video for the song Déterminé by Alonzo .
