Cyril Raffaelli

Cyril Raffaelli , also Cyril Cuenel Raffaelli , (born April 1, 1974 ) is a French traceur , martial artist , stuntman and actor . He became famous through the film Ghettogangz - Hell before Paris , in which he played the lead role alongside David Belle . He has become a well-known martial arts choreographer through films like The Transporter .

Life

Influenced by his two brothers, Raffaelli became interested in martial arts at the age of six . He started with the nunchaku and then learned the Shōtōkan -ryū in a karate club. At this time, Cyril also took part in several athletics championships. Eventually he became enthusiastic about Jackie Chan's films , which fueled his desire to star in films.

At the age of 14, Raffaelli entered Annie Fratellini's circus school , where he met Vincent Cassel . There he acquired his acrobatic skills. He then accompanied the troops of the Bouglione, Zavatta and Fratellini families. In 1991 Raffaelli was asked to take part in a choreography for an interpretation of the play The Rare ; this is how he was discovered for television. He also took part in several shows and promotional recordings or dance performances in some operas.

In 1993 he was in the casting of the new version of Starmania , which was directed by Lewis Furey. He got the role of Étoile Noire for four years . He continued his sporting career until 1999 with several international titles, including the martial art Wushu .

Film career

In 1996 Raffaelli made his first appearance as a stuntman in a Gérard Jugnot film . He then worked in numerous productions, where he was able to bring his experience, his acrobatic skills and his sense of staging to the choreography of fight scenes and stunts.

His meeting with Luc Besson on the set of Joan of Arc in 1999 was a pivotal event; since then, Raffaelli has appeared in many action films produced by EuropaCorp . He had his first major role in 2001 in Kiss of the Dragon .
