The slightly overweight Nina is married to the attractive Gaspard. Both are owners of a swimwear company, with Gaspard responsible for sales and Nina for finances. The designs for the new collections come from Natacha, who is extremely slim and has been Nina's best friend since school. The pressure on Nina to lose weight is great, especially her mother makes it clear to her that only with ten kilograms less she has long-term chances of keeping Gaspard. One day when Nina bursts a skirt seam in the midst of customers, Gaspard pulls the emergency brake: he gives her a month-long slimming diet in Savoy .
Nina starts the cure and notices on the way there that many of the participants meet for the cure every year. The strong mother of two, Emilie, in particular, is ecstatic when she sees her best friend Sophie again when she arrives at the hotel. Sophie is a lawyer, very slim and has remained young through numerous cosmetic surgeries. She mainly uses the spa stay to be able to spend time with various commercial admirers, including the callboy Yussuf.
At the start of the cure, Nina learns that she doesn't have to lose ten kilograms to have her ideal weight, but that she will have achieved her goal by five kilograms. During the course of the treatment, Nina happens to learn that Gaspard is cheating on her with Natacha. Via Sophie, Nina gets to know the designers of the German swimwear company Hussel and Hussel , Gudrun and Hans, who are enthusiastic about their designs and want to meet her for talks. Up until March 2011, Pretty Biggest Friends was filmed mainly in Brides-les-Bains , including in the Grand Hôtel des Thermes. Charlotte Betaillole created the costumes and Patrick Dutertre designed the film . Leading actress Lola Dewaere gained seven kilograms for the film, which she lost again during filming.
Pretty Biggest Girlfriends was shown in French cinemas on March 28, 2012, where around 1,384,000 viewers saw him. In Germany, the film was released directly on DVD on May 13, 2014. The original title of the film Mince alors! colloquially means something like thunderstorm! or all respect! , but also literally translated as “Well thin!”.
