Frédéric Zigante (* 1961 ) is a French guitarist .

Life

Zigante studied guitar with Ruggero Chiesa , Alirio Díaz and Alexandre Lagoya at the Conservatory "Giuseppe Verdi" in Milan.

He lectures regularly in Europe and Asia and has given concerts in the Suntory Hall in Tokyo and in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

His repertoire includes Johann Sebastian Bach , Niccolò Paganini , Heitor Villa-Lobos , Mauro Giuliani and Joaquín Rodrigo . He has premiered and premiered works by Alexandre Tansman , Franco Donatoni , Frank Martin and Steve Reich .

He was involved in several TV and radio recordings, for example for RAI , the BBC , Radio France , the radio of the GDR , Radio Vaticana , Radio Suisse Romande and Radiotelevisión Española . Several CD recordings were made.

Zigante plays an 1828 guitar by Louis Panormo and specializes in 19th century performance practice. He is professor of guitar at the Conservatory in Trieste and holds master classes in Spain, China and Switzerland.
