François Gerard Molins (born August 26, 1953 in Banyuls-dels-Aspres , Pyrénées-Orientales , France ) is a French public prosecutor .

career

Molins studied law and graduated from the École nationale de la magistrature from 1976 to 1979. Immediately after graduating, he began his career as a public prosecutor. First as a representation in Carcassonne (1979–1986), then as a full public prosecutor in Montbrison (1986–1988) and Villefranche-sur-Saône (1988–1991). From 1991 to 1993 he served as Deputy Attorney General in Bastia (Corsica), then until 1996 as Attorney General in Lyon . From 2000 to 2001 Molins also held the office of public prosecutor in Angers .

In 2001, Molins moved to the Department of Criminal Affairs and Pardons, where he worked until 2004. He then returned to the judiciary and worked for five years as a prosecutor in Bobigny at the twelfth Tribunal de Grande Instance .

In 2009 Michèle appointed Alliot-Marie Molins as her personal office manager. Alliot-Marie's successor, Michel Mercier , also kept Molins in the role. In November 2011, Molins was appointed Attorney General at the Court of Cassation , the highest court of ordinary jurisdiction in France.
