François-Xavier Lê Văn Hông

François-Xavier Lê Văn Hông ( Phanxicô Xaviê Lê Văn Hồng ; born June 30, 1940 in Tribuu , Quảng Trị , Vietnam ) is a Vietnamese clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Huế .

Life

Lê Văn Hông attended the Small Seminary in Huế (1953–1961), the Pontifical Major Seminary in Dalat (1961–1969) and completed his studies in canon law at the Institut catholique de Paris (1999–2002).

On December 21, 1969, he was ordained a priest in Huế . He was a professor at the Major Seminary in Hue (1970-1973), responsible for the pastoral care of vocations (1973-1974), a military chaplain (1974-1975) and Pastor in Truoi (1975-1999). Since 2002 he has been pastor in Phu Hau (Huế) and commissioner for theological training for priests in the Archdiocese of Hué.

On February 19, 2005 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Gadiaufala and auxiliary bishop in Hue . The Archbishop of Huế, Etienne Nguyên Nhu Thê , donated him episcopal ordination on April 7th of the same year . Co- consecrators were the bishop of Qui Nhơn , Pierre Nguyên Soan , and the bishop of Đà Nẵng , Paul Nguyên Binh Tinh PSS .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Archbishop of Huế on August 18, 2012.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on October 29, 2016.
