biography
Marsaglia started in junior and FIS races from December 2005 . In September 2006 she got her first victories in the South American Cup. In February 2007 she competed in her first European Cup race , started a little later at the European Youth Olympic Festival 2007 in Jaca , where she was sixth in giant slalom and 16th in slalom, and took part in a junior world championship for the first time in March of the same year . In Altenmarkt-Zauchensee , her best result was seventh in the Super-G. A year later she finished only 40th in the Super-G at the Junior World Championship in Formigal in 2008 and was eliminated in all other competitions. In March 2008 she was Italian junior downhill champion and second in super-G.
Since the 2007/08 season Marsaglia competes regularly in the European Cup. This winter she finished in the top 20 twice. In the 2008/09 season she achieved her first top 10 results and also her first podium. On February 24th, 2009 she was the second on the downhill from Tarvisio for the first time on the podium. Shortly thereafter, she reached fifth place in the downhill at the 2009 Junior World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen .
In the World Cup , Marsaglia already took part in four races in Italy in February 2008 and January 2009, but never reached the points. Also in the 2009/10 season, in which she competed a total of nine World Cup races in all disciplines, except slalom, she did not get beyond a 40th place. The Italian achieved better results in the European Cup. She finished in the top five seven times in the 2009/10 season and celebrated her first victory in the Super-G in St. Moritz on January 21, 2010 . With that she reached sixth place in the overall and downhill rankings and third place in the Super-G classification. At the Junior World Championships 2010 in the Mont Blanc region , however, only a 13th place in the giant slalom was her best result. In downhill and super-G, she was only just under the top 30.
On December 3, 2010, Marsaglia won her first World Cup points when she surprisingly finished 13th on the downhill from Lake Louise with starting number 46. She has not been able to beat this result to this day, although since then she has repeatedly scored in the World Cup and achieved several top 20 placements. At her first major event, the 2011 World Championship in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , she was used in the super combination, in which she was eliminated in the slalom run. On December 15, 2013, she achieved a top 10 result in the World Cup for the first time when she finished 9th in the giant slalom in St. Moritz . Her best result so far is 6th place in Bansko's Super-G on March 19, 2015. She repeated this success on January 10, 2016 in Altenmarkt .
Marsaglia achieved her first podium finish in a World Cup race on December 7, 2019 with third place in the downhill from Lake Louise.
