Francesco Coco (born January 8, 1977 in Paternò ) is a former Italian football player .

He began his career in 1993 with AC Milan , from where he was loaned three times until 2002: to Vicenza Calcio , FC Turin and FC Barcelona . He then moved to Inter Milan in exchange for Clarence Seedorf . High hopes were placed in Coco, which he could not fulfill due to many injuries, so he could only play 26 games for Inter in five years. In 2005/06 he moved to AS Livorno on loan , where he played regularly but inconspicuously. In the summer of 2006 he was unsuccessfully looking for a club so that he had to stay at Inter against his will. In January 2007, he denied a trial training at Manchester City , which did not take him under contract. Then Coco loaned FC Turin, where he only came to 3 short appearances. In September 2007 Coco dissolved the contract with Inter Milan, originally Coco wanted to end his career because of permanent back pain, but in December 2007 allegedly negotiated with the Queens Park Rangers and FC Red Bull Salzburg about an engagement.
National team
Francesco Coco played for Italy's U-21s at the U-21 European Championship in Slovakia in 2000 , where his team won the title under coach Marco Tardelli . For the Italian national soccer team he made his debut on October 7, 2000 against Romania . In total, Coco played 17 games between 2000 and 2002 without scoring a goal. Coco was also in the Italian squad for the 2002 World Cup , where he played two games.
