Francesco Comina

Francesco Comina (born July 4, 1967 in Bolzano ) is a South Tyrolean journalist , pacifist and politician .

Life

Comina grew up in Bolzano and studied literary subjects at the University of Verona . He worked as a journalist for various newspapers: for the Italian weekly “Il Segno” of the Diocese of Bozen-Brixen (1994–2000), for “Mattino di Bolzano” (2000–2003) and for the Trentinol'Adige ” (2003–2007 ). Comina is the founder and was coordinator of the Center for Peace in Bolzano until 2017.

In the 2003 state elections, Comina ran on the list of Peace and Justice - Left Together . As the first non-elected (1,982 preferential votes) on July 10, 2008, he succeeded Luisa Gnecchi , who had previously resigned from all offices because of her election to the Roman parliament, to the South Tyrolean state parliament and at the same time the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol .

The state parliament then elected him with 19 votes to the state council for Gnecchi's former departments (labor, Italian school and vocational training, innovation and cooperative systems) in the state government , where he belonged to the Durnwalder IV cabinet . He also became assessor and vice-president in the regional government .

Comina, who is a member of Pax Christi , showed no interest in running for the state elections in 2008 and handed over his office to his successors Barbara Repetto and Christian Tommasini from the Democratic Party on December 18, 2008 .
