Francis Forton (born March 20, 1962 in Belgium ) is a Belgian carom player in the three- cushion disipline .
Career
In 1976, his father was president of the Union Royal Saint-Michel billiards club. In his youth, Forton played football for “Standard Anderlecht”, then began playing billiards in 1980 after completing his military service. Forton had been working full-time as an insurance employee since 1979, until he decided in 1986 to devote himself entirely to the sport of billiards. In 1981 he was a student of the Belgian national coach Emile Wafflard , multiple world and European champion, especially in the classic disciplines free game , cadre and binding . So it happened that Forton's career also began in these games, only later did he switch to three cushion. In Athens he then won the fourth World Cup in the final in 1996 , beating Christian Rudolph in 3-2 sets. In Corfu he was able to advance to the quarter-finals at the three-cushion World Cup 1998/5 , where he lost 3-0 to Ben Velthuis from the Netherlands.
With the club "BC Couronne" he becomes champion of the 3rd division (cast: Detrenoye, M. Winckelmans, L. Winckelmans, Bernical), 2nd division (cast: M. Winckelmans, Stitchinsky, De Wambersie) and 1. Division (cast: Frederic Mottet, Ramaeckers, Van De Gught). With Uytdewilghen, Van Peer, De Zwart and Vandersteen (Courbevoie, France) and Leppens , Boudin, Barbeillon he takes part in the 2008 Dutch championships.
