The Belgian three-cushion championship is a national tournament series in the three- cushion carom discipline . It is organized by the Belgian umbrella organization Koninklijke Belgische Biljartbond (KBBB). The Belgian champions are automatically qualified to take part in the three-cushion European championships. It has been held annually since the 1927/28 season, with the exception of World War II, and has been held regularly in Blankenberge since 1998 .

history

The championship was held for the first time in 1927/28, the winner was Emile Zaman, who could also win the following two championships. With an individual average (ED) of 1.250, he also set an unusual record for this time, which was only broken 20 years later by René Vingerhoedt in 1947 with 1.785. It was also he who broke the “magic” limit of 1 in the general average (GD) in 1948 with 1.028 . The outstanding player here too was Raymond Ceulemans with 24 gold medals, followed by René Vingerhoedt with 13. 2019 Frédéric Caudron with his ninth title drew level with Eddy Merckx .
