Laurent Boulanger (born August 11, 1931 in Liège , Belgium ; † 2008 ) was a Belgian carom player and world champion.

Career

Born in Liège, he was an all-rounder who was successful both in the classic varieties of cadre , as well as in gang games such as three cushion . Boulanger was able to win his first title at the Belgian Three Cushion Championships (BDM) in the 1959/60 season with a silver medal. While René Vingerhoedt and Raymond Ceulemans continued to dominate the BDM, 1962 was his most successful player year. In April he was able to win the Cadre 47/1 European Championship in Nijmegen , in June in Ostend the Cadre 71/2 EM, which he won in 1961, and in October the Cadre 71/2 World Championship in Oberhausen. He had to wait until 1969 for his first title win at the BDM, when he was finally able to beat Ceulemans in the final. In Germany at the end of the 1980s he played together with Fonsy Grethen for the BF Horster-Eck Essen club in 1959 , with whom he won the Bundesliga championship in 1988. In December of the same year he wins the three-cushion World Cup 1988/5 in Valkenburg, the Netherlands .
