The 1967 Cadre 71/2 World Championship was the 15th Cadre 71/2 World Championship. The tournament took place from 6 to 10 September 1967 in Düsseldorf . It was the fifth Cadre 71/2 World Championship in Germany.

history

A world championship of records took place in Düsseldorf in 1967. All the old world records have been improved. Frenchman Jean Marty managed two of them . He improved the general average (GD) to 52.79 and the best individual average (BED) to 150.00 . The Argentinian champion Osvaldo Berardi became world champion for the first time . He just lost the game against Marty and drew against Raymond Ceulemans . As in 1966, Ceulemans lost against the Austrian Johann Scherz and was only second due to the worse GD. The 24-year-old German champion Dieter Müller started the tournament very nervously and lost his first four games. He then played superbly and won his next four games in 5, 4, 8 and 3 takes. In the last game against Scherz, he finished the game with a final series of 298 points and thus improved Henk Scholte's series world record from 1965.

Tournament mode

A final round in the round robin system up to 300 points was played. In the event of a tie in the MPs, the following order is taken:

  1. MP = match points
  2. GD = general average
  3. HS = maximum series
