The 1993 Cadre 71/2 World Championship was the 21st Cadre 71/2 World Championship. The tournament took place from January 21 to 24, 1993 in Menen in the Belgian province of West Flanders. It was the fourth Cadre 71/2 World Championship in Belgium.
history
The Luxembourgish Fonsy Grethen was the new world champion in cadre 71/2. With two draws in the preliminary round against Marc Massé and Henri Tilleman, he reached the final against his final opponent Frédéric Caudron from 1991. This time Grethen turned the tables and won the final with 250: 195 in five shots. By regulating the direct comparison, Eddy Leppens got into the game for third place. As in 1991, Wolfgang Zenkner also made it into the "small" final. This time he also lost out and was fourth again. Michael Hikl had lost in the preliminary round to Leppens and Horvath and only came fourth in the group with a tie. But it equaled two records from 1991.
Tournament mode
Two preliminary round groups were played in the round robin system up to 250 points. The two best in the group played the semi-finals. All places were played out. If there is a tie between MPs, the direct comparison counts.
