The Swedish three- cushion championship is the national Swedish championship in the carom three- cushion discipline and is organized by the national billiards association Svenska Biljardförbundet (SBF). It has been held annually since 1964. The winner is qualified to participate in the following three-cushion European championship.

history

Initially, the tournament was dominated by Lennart Haag, Sten Hebert and Mats Noren, until the Blomdahl era began in the early 1980s. Father Lennart , the eternal runner-up, was able to win the tournament once in 1975 and repeat it in 1993 and 1994, before his son Torbjörn , only 20 years old, won his first national title in 1982 and to date has become the undisputed three-cushion king of Sweden and the tournament won a total of 29 times by 2019. Lennart won further silver medals, his last medal with bronze in 2010 and then withdrew from the tournament in 2012. Michael Nilsson had to finish second only seven times, the first time in 1997, and wait 10 years before beating Torbjörn Blomdahl in the 2007 final and securing his first of four gold medals.

Tournament statistics

Little data is known from the early years. Only the general average (GD) of the winner is known. Information on the maximum series (HS) or individual average (ED) is not available. The information on the (host) location is either a city or a club. Third place was played by 2018, and both semi-finalists have been awarded bronze since 2019.
