Francis Patrick Carroll (bishop, 1930)
Francis Patrick Carroll (born September 9, 1930 in Ganmain ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop of Canberra-Goulburn .
Life
The bishop of Wagga Wagga , Francis Augustin Henschke , ordained him as a priest on July 27, 1954 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him on June 12, 1967 coadjutor bishop of Wagga Wagga and titular bishop of Tasaccora . Bishop Francis Augustin Henschke donated him episcopal ordination on September 5th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Francis Roberts Rush , Bishop of Rockhampton , and Douglas Joseph Warren , Auxiliary Bishop at Wilcannia-Forbes .
With the death of Francis Augustin Henschke on February 24, 1968 he succeeded him as Bishop of Wagga Wagga.
On June 25, 1983, he was named Archbishop of Canberra-Goulburn . On June 19, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
