Francis Xavier Ahn Myong-ok

Francis Xavier Ahn Myong-ok ( kor. 안명옥 , born December 7, 1945 in Masan , South Korea ) is a South Korean clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Masan .

Life

Francis Xavier Ahn Myong-ok received on 2 February 1975, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 23 October 2000 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To Coadjutor Bishop of Masan. Archbishop Emeritus of Seoul , Stephen Cardinal Kim Sou-hwan , donated him episcopal ordination on January 8, 2001 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Masan, Michael Pak Jeong-il , and the Bishop of Pusan , Augustine Cheong Myong-jo . On November 11, 2002, Francis Xavier Ahn Myong-ok became Bishop of Masan, succeeding Michael Pak Jeong-il, who resigned for reasons of age.

On April 19, 2016, Pope Francis accepted his early resignation.
