Franck Perera

Franck Perera (born March 21, 1984 in Montpellier ) is a French racing driver .

In 1995 Perera began his karting career . After taking part in the Italian Formula Renault winter championship in 2001 , he started in the Italian Formula Renault in 2002. In this series he reached eighth place overall and also took part in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. In 2003 the Frenchman secured the championship title of the Italian Formula Renault. In addition, Perera was active in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and competed in some German Formula Renault races. In 2004 Perera moved to the Prema Powerteam in the Formula 3 Euro Series and finished eighth in the overall standings. Also in the next season Perera was active for the Prema Powerteam in the Formula 3 Euro Series and finished fourth in the overall classification. Perera then switched to DAMS in the GP2 series in 2006 . At the end of the season he finished 16th in the overall ranking. His best result was second place in Monaco . In addition, Perera competed for Interwetten Racing in two races in the World Series by Renault .

In 2007, Perera moved to America and was runner-up in the Champ Car Formula Atlantic with Condor Motorsports . For 2008 Perera signed with Conquest Racing and was supposed to start in the ChampCar World Series , but due to the merger of the ChampCar World Series with the IndyCar Series , the Frenchman only started a few races in the Indy Car Series. In the further course of the season Perera was active for half a season in the Indy Lights and was 17th in the overall standings.

In the middle of the 2009 season, Perera switched back to the GP2 series with David Price Racing and finished 28th overall after eight race weekends without scoring any points. For the ninth race weekend he was by Johnny Cecotto jr. replaced.
