Franco Collenberg (born August 25, 1985 in Chur ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Thurgau in the Swiss League since 2018 .

Career

Franco Collenberg began his career as a hockey player in the youth of HC Davos , for whose professional team he made his debut in the National League A in the 2003/04 season . During the season, the defender moved to EHC Chur from the National League B , for which he played the following year and a half. From 2005 to 2008 Collenberg was on the ice for EHC Basel in National League A, but also played four games for EHC Olten in National League B in the 2006/07 season . In the summer of 2008, the left-shooter moved to Friborg-Gottéron , for which he scored a total of ten scorer points, including four goals, in 50 games in the following season.

At the end of December 2011 it was announced that the native of Graubünden will wear the SC Bern jersey in the 2012/13 season . Collenberg signed a two-season contract with the Bernese. During the NHL lockout , he was loaned to the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers . He won the Swiss championship title with the Bernese in 2013 . For the 2013/14 season, the Bündner moved to the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, where he signed a contract for two seasons. At the beginning of February 2014 he returned to SC Bern as part of a swap deal, in return Dan Weisskopf moved to the Lakers.

After the 2013/14 season, he ended his career as a professional athlete, but returned in November 2014 and was signed by SC Langenthal .

He moved to Kloten Flyers for the 2015/16 season . After a year he left Kloten in the direction of the NLA competitor HC Ambrì-Piotta . There he received a two-year contract. He has been playing for HC Thurgau since the 2018/19 season .

International

For Switzerland , Collenberg took part in the U18 Junior World Championship in 2003 , where he and his team finished ninth and thus relegated to Division I.
