Franco Giulio Brambilla (born June 30, 1949 in Missaglia ) is Bishop of Novara .

Life

The Archbishop of Milan , Cardinal Giovanni Umberto Colombo , ordained him a priest on June 7, 1975 . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on July 13, 2007 auxiliary bishop in Milan and titular bishop of Tullia .

The Archbishop of Milan , Dionigi Cardinal Tettamanzi , donated him episcopal ordination on September 23 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Francesco Coccopalmerio , President of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts , Marco Ferrari , Auxiliary Bishop in Milan, Renato Corti , Bishop of Novara, and Giuseppe Betori , General Secretary of the Italian Bishops' Conference .

As a motto he chose Loquamur Dominum Iesum . He was appointed Bishop of Novara on November 24, 2011, and was introduced to the office on February 5 of the following year.

Following the tradition of his diocese, he wears a double cross in the coat of arms . This privilege of an archbishop's symbol in the coat of arms of an ordinary bishop was granted to the diocese in 1823 by Pope Leo XII . and is unique in this form worldwide.
